I am a classically trained musician with over 40 years of experience playing, singing, writing, and performing music. I play the piano, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, mandolin, ukulele, accordion, and various other instruments.
I was given classical piano lessons as a child, and started writing music in middle school. In high school, I began teaching myself the guitar. After high school, I formed my first rock n roll band, called The Other Side. We had our first show in the basement of an all ages club in 1995, and worked our way up to shows at larger music festivals like Summerfest, Bastille Days, Chicks Rock Fest, and various other midwest venues. We won two WAMI Awards (Wisconsin’s version of the Grammys) in 2003 for Rock/Alternative Group of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year, with many other accolades along the way. Shortly after that, we morphed into Rainy Day Crush. RDC signed with a small label out of Minneapolis and toured around the Midwest and East Coast for a year or two before flaming out in a blaze of glory, as the saying goes.
Through the years, we have brought the band back with different lineups and varying levels of success. In the late 2010s, theater began taking up more and more of my time, and RDC played our last show in the summer of 2019.
Despite the untimely demise of the band, I still play, sing, write, and record when I can.
